Essay

The thesis investigates the phenomenon of the "baroque universalism" in Ukrainian artistic thinking. It is based on the comparative analysis of Ukrainian baroque poetics of the XVII-XVIII centuries and the "first" and "second" neobaroque in Ukrainian arts of the beginning and the end of XX century. The baroque aesthetics is reconstructed by the systems of artistic figurativeness with the arhetipical structure of motives, figures, toposis of Ukrainian baroque discurs. The research of the transcultural communications in the home artistic space, allows to define Baroque as the metalanguage of Ukrainian artistic thinking and to ensure its universalistic functions in the development of Ukrainian arts. The author also refers to the modern aspects of Ukrainian artistic and aesthetic discurs, and reveals its "universalistic" character with the help of the basic categories and principles of baroque and neobaroque aesthetics.
