Yushchenko G. Urolithiasis of the domestic cats (pathogenesis, diagnostic and therapy)

Object of investigation - urolithiasis of the domestic cats; the goal of the investigation is investigation of different parts of pathogenesis of urolithiasis of the domestic cats, investigation of roles of clinical and laboratory diagnostic methods concerning this disease, experimental proof of medical effect of sulodexid; the investigation method - clinical, biochemical (level of protein, urea, creatinine and glycosaminoglycans in urine; level of protein, urea, creatinine, cholesterol, chondroitinsulfats, glycosaminoglycans, glycoproteins, calcium, activity AST and ALT in blood serum); microscopic investigations of urine; ultrasound research; pathohistological (kidney, urinary bladder); the scientific novelty: the complex investigation with clinical, biochemical and ultrasonic examinations of the domestic cats with urolithiasis showed that that the level of GAG in urine most likely correlates with the process of urolithiasis. Usage of this test raises efficiency of diagnostic methods of urolithiasis; using GAG-containing drug sulodexid in complex treatment of this disease reduces probability of development of its relapses from 40 % (conservative treatment without sulodexid), up to 20 % (conservative treatment with sulodexid usage); suggested: criterions of diagnostic of urolithiasis in domestic cats, methods of treatment of th cats with urolothiasis; inculcated: obtained conclusions are using in scientific-research work and in lecture courses of «Clinical diagnostic» and «Veterinary therapy » in Belotserkovkskij State Agrarian University and Kharkov State Zooveterinary Academy; using area: Veterinary Medicine.
