Essay

The thesis gives the analysis of the contents of Ukrainian ABC-books and readers, school textbooks in Ukrainian Language, Natural Sciences, History, Citizenship Studies and substantiates their role and significance in the multicultural upbringing of junior pupils in Zakarpattia in the interwar period; discovers multicultural orientation of the contents of school education in home and foreign theory and practice; finds out chief factors of support of Ukrainian textbook com-pilation (socio-economic, socio-political, cultural-educational, etc.), objective laws of the development of text-books. Pedagogical theory is enriched with academic knowl-edge of the contents of the notion “multiculturalism”; the thesis examines possibilities of creative use of historical ex-perience of junior pupils’ upbringing in today’s multicultural space in Ukraine.
