Yesypovych K. The Image of “The Magic” in French Folk Tale (A Сognitive Linguistic Aspect).

The dissertation deals with the analysis of semantic organization in the French folk tale. The research focuses on revealing the conceptual structure of the image of “The Magic” content as well as on its actualization by linguistic means. The suggested comprehensive approach to the fairy tale image analysis is accomplished in the framework of cognitive poetics. The idea underlying the thesis is that the image of “The Magic” it is a conceptual meta-image reconstructed according to the method of artistic meta-description.The content of “The Magic” image is viewed from taxonomical and axiological aspects. Such an approach predetermines the tendency of the characters’ prototypes identification in French Folk tale. The study also establishes the regularities of the characters’ dynamic and static features distribution. The thesis unveils the prognostic function of a folk-tale realized through the overlap of images of the “magic” and “real” world. The analysis of linguistic means, verbalizing the basic concepts of the fairy tale world is performed; the meta-image function of tropes is determined.
