Essay

The thesis is a complex investigation of A. Camus' prose works "L'Etranger" and "La Peste" and Sartre's works "La Nausee" and "Le Mur" in comparison with their Ukrainian translations done by A. Perepadya, I. Borsuk and O. Zhupansky. As a result of the research, it has been stated that semantic and stylistic structure of the original works under analysis develops in accordance with the conceptual macroideas of philosophical essence. The expressive means of megaconcepts embodiment as well as the most important textual concepts of the original and translated prose are investigated and described in the paper. The complex analysis of the above-mentioned works in comparison with the corresponding Ukrainian versions has revealed the harmonious connection between their lexico-semantic content and syntactic framing that exposes the main intentions of the authors, mainly A. Camus' idea of absurd and Sartre's realisation of existence. The principal elements of meaning and form composition reflecting the conceptual entity of the French originals are adequately reproduced in Ukrainian translations.
