The research work is dedicated to the investigation of the educational activity and the viewpoints of August Hermann Francke in the contest of foundation and development of the cultural and educational Centre „The Orphan House" in Halle (Germany). The social and economic preconditions of the foundation of the cultural and educational Centre The Orphan House by August Hermann Francke in Halle (the second part of the 17th century) are determined in this work; the founding and the functioning of the cultural and educational Centre „The Orphan House", founded by A.H. Francke are analysed; the influence of „The Orphan House" upon the culture and education in Europe in the 18th century is also determined. The viewpoints of A.H. Francke on the upbringing of the personality (in the years between 1692-1727) and their main idea are analysed; the peculiarities of the organization of the educational process of „The Orphan House" schools (1695-1727) are substantiated; the experience of the inculcation of the pedagogical ideas of August Hermann Francke is analysed and the model of the social and pedagogical activity of the educational institution in the modern stage of the educational development in Ukraine is worked out.
