Chechotina S. Medical efficiency of the altan ointment in parodontitis (experimental investigation)

The thesis is devoted to the study of parodontoprotective action of the altan ointment in treatment of inflammatory-dystrophic diseases of parodontium. It was determined that 2% altan ointment which was applied as a medical bandage to the gums of the rats on the models of spontaneous and traumatic parodontitis liquidates the symptoms of inflammation, decreases the destructive processes in parodontium (limits the activation of colagenolisis and depolymirization of glycoproteins, lowers the presence of parodontal sockets, mobility of teeth and alveolar process rezorption), normalizes the indexes of mineral exchange of mandibular bones, brakes the processes of lipid peroxide oxi-dation, activates antioxidant protection and nonspecific resis-tancy, strengthens the reparative regeneration of the injured parodontium tissues. Altan ointment of 2% in conditions of the experiment reveals a greater therapentical effect on the tissues of parodontium than referential preparation - 10% ointment of methyluracilum. It was indicated that the therapentical effi-ciency of the 2% altan ointment in rats with the spontaneous parodontitis is strengthened in its use together with the altan tablets (рer os, 1 mg/kg).
