Kur'yanova M. Grammatical Difficulties of Translation of Scientific and Technical Texts from German into Ukrainian.

The thesis represents an all-around analysis of grammatical difficulties of translation of German scientific and technical texts and the identifikation of equivalents of syntactical constructions and morphological elements in Ukrainian. The aim of the research is to elucidate grammatical difficulties a translator of scientific and technical literature faces, to make a thorough interpretetive analysis of them and to determine the frequency of application of techniques and methods of transmission of different grammatical phenomena in German-ukrainian translation. For the first time in Ukrainian translation studies are made: the most complete analysis of tranformations of different syntactical constructions and morphological elements in translation from German into Ukrainian; a full classification of grammatical difficulties of scientific and technical translation; considered were possible mistakes of translation involving modern facts and proposed ways in order to avoid them, revealed were common and distinctive features of the scientific and technical sublanguages in German and Ukrainian taking spoken language into account, for the first time the problem of the research of Ukrainian equivalents of German syntactical constructions and morphological elements of the scientific and technical sublanguage was solved, the methods of translation of grammatical phenomena were systematized, own practical examples of translation were proposed, and application of methods was quantitativly analyzed.
