The dissertation is devoted to the problem of current importance in modern theory and practice - aesthetic education of pupils at Children's Music Schools. Level of elaboration of aesthetic education at modern Children's Music Schools as well as the aesthetic education criteria's (perception, interpretation, interest in music, socio-cultural) of pupils at Children's Music Schools, their indicators and levels have been determined and defined. On the basis of the analysis of psychological-pedagogical and philosophical-aesthetic literature, studying and summarizing practical experience, principles of pupils' aesthetic education at Children's Music Schools have been grounded and checked by means of conducting the experiment. Methods of aesthetic education of pupils at Children's Music Schools at the lessons of specialty have been suggested. They are based on the theory of acquiring music as the art of tonal meaning and require solving the problems of acquiring complex intonation by pupils, forming their sense of genre and style characteristics of music and teaching analytical-synthetic attitude to music art.
