Shpulina O. Parodontoprotective efficiency of lipoic acid in experimental chronic generalized periodontitis

The dissertation is devoted to the experimental substantiation of expediency of lipoic acid preventive application in chronic generalized periodontitis. In the base of protective efficiency of the drug its ability to prevent the formation of spread membrane pathology lies. It is realized by means of significant decrease of intensity of free radicals generation and accumulation and effective regulation of oxidant-antioxidant homeostasis in blood serum and gingival tissues of rats with inflammatory-destructive process in parodont. Moreover, the parodontoprotective activity of lipoic acid realizes in considerable positive influence on the energetic metabolism by means of preservation of ATP fund and modification of enzyme activity аside of induction of effective ways of macroergs resynthesis, and also in intensifica-tion of adaptive reactions functioning on the stage of biotransport of endotoxins in conditions of the investigated form of periodontitis.
