Tolstova O. Linguo cognitive features of somatic phraseological units in Spanish.

The thesis deals with the interpretation of Spanish somatic phraseological units taking into account their motivation. The factors influencing somatisms' potential ability to be used in phraseological units are stated. The author's classification of motivational types is presented; the following types of motivation are revealed: conventional knowledge, conceptual metaphor and conceptual metonymy, comparative motivation, culturally determined motivation, pseudomotivation. The paper highlights the motivation tendencies in Spanish somatic idioms' formation. The ways motivation types represent the conceptualization of somatisms are signed out. It is proved that somatic phraseological units in Spanish are characterized with the high degree of motivation and complicated motivation structure, containing different types the patterns are PART of BODY FOR MAN, PART of BODY FOR CAPABILITIES, PART of BODY IS CONTAINER. The features and factors for denotation the fragments of Spanish national conceptual system by means of phraseological units are determined.
