Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the place and significance of the key ideas of I. Kant's aesthetics - productive imagination, ability to reason, principle of expediency - in the philosophical system of the German thinker and in modern theoretical thought. Based on the analysis of Kant's theoretical heritage, a new vector was determined in the development of classical theory through combining it with relevant developments of modern aesthetics, psychology, philosophy. In the course of research we have established that certain claims of the thinker's aesthetic theory can be used as a methodological foundation for the analysis of the historically varying forms of art and the aesthetic activity of an individual in general. Thus, the artistic form of a created work is described as the substantial concentrate of the aesthetically significant in the historical development of the community.
