Essay

The dissertation deals with the problem of formation process and development of paintings and graphics of Halychyna at the Romantic period. The thesis traces artistic and stylistic peculiarities of these two arts based on the complex analysis of the creative ways of the key romantic artists in Halychyna. For the first time the connection has been characterized between the genre structure of paintings and graphics and aesthetic concept of Romanticism. The thesis emphasizes the parallel nature and axiological values of the evolution changes within three leading genres (portrait, landscape, household picture), shows the circle of the most characteristic images and motifs of the romantic art in Halychyna and underlined their local peculiarities.
