Essay

The thesis deals with the problems of the child and youth guardianship in Ukraine (1945-1990) and its scientific-methodological provision. The paper suggests the analysis of the research theoretical-methodological principles, the evolution of the notion "guardianship" and various approaches to the classification of the guardianship types and their corresponding forms. The stages and peculiarities of the child and youth guardianship provision in Ukraine within the regarded period were singled out. The structure and types of tutelary-educative establishments and ways of their reorganization were outlined; the system of the child and youth guardianship in Ukraine (1945-1990) was characterized; the then scientific-methodological provision of tutelary-educative work was analyzed.In the paper the extent and ways of the tutelary-educative tasks fulfillment in the secondary schools, types and forms of the working youth guardianship of the period under research were described. The orientation of the tutelary work in children's homes and orphanages was set out. The recommendation for the improvement of the tutelary-educative work in schools and training would-be-teachers for its realization in the modern conditions were suggested.
