In dissertation research the actual aspects of problems of evaluation of educational achievements of children of 6-7-years-old age are exposed at elementary school of Ukraine. It's essence and figure is analysed in psychological and pedagogical literature and practice of primary school the middle of the ХХ th- beginning of ХХІ century. The components of assessing activity are characterized and objects, functions, psychological-pedagogical conditions, criteria, demands to it are explained in the research. The content of educational programs, especially, of the first class of 4-year primary school is analyzed. Main approaches to the use of mark in education of 6-7 year children are revealed during the surveyed period for their extrapolation in modern primary education at the stage of its reformation in Ukraine.
