Kafarska O. Pedagogical principles of forming citizenship of student youth (1991-2005)

In the thesis topical issues of citizenship formation as a task and result of public upbringing of youth are scrutinized. Basic periods of historiography of the problem are determined and dependence of the aim of civil upbringing of youngsters on social and political as well as social and cultural conditions of life and activity of the Ukrainian community in different epochs of its historical development is substantiated. Theoretical and methodological principles are analyzed in the paper and factors of forming citizenship as well as mechanisms of their effect on individuals are traced. Structure of the process of formation of citizenship of individuals is outlined, forms, methods and ways of optimizing educational and upbringing process, extra-curricular activity and self-education of students aimed at formation of citizenship are determined.
