The thesis investigates the historically-pedagogic aspect of the students' activity in people's school control organization in Ukraine in the particularly historical period (the second half of the 20th century). On the basis of scientifically-pedagogic, historical literature and official documents analysis the preconditions and peculiarities of primary education system development in Ukraine in the 2nd half of the 20th century are characterised. The contribution of the domestic teachers in the working out of the theoretical bases of educationally-cognitive activity of primary school pupils control organization is disclosed. The experience of control realisation in the practice of investigated period is generalised. The normative base of the control process in the people’s schools is investigated, the forms and methods of current and periodic control are characterized, the peculiarities of encouragement and punishment as the main means of primary school pupils in the process of learning are revealed andgeneralized. The major stages of pupils’ educational activity in the context of people’s schools development in Ukraine in the investigated period are defined and its tendencies are outlined. The prognostic tendencies of the acquired experience in the control organization development in the practice of modern Ukrainian national primary school (the improvement of the control system, methodological re-orientation of the learning process on the pupil’s personality development, acquisition by control system features, the further search of the effective ways of the main control functions realisation, scientific grounding of the united criteria of pupils’ study achievements).
