Essay

The object of research is a development of primary education in the South of Ukraine in the second half ХІХ - at the beginning of ХХ item. The aim of research: to learn and analyse the features of becoming and development of primary schools in the South of Ukraine in 1861-1917, their influence on becoming of universal education of population of region. The subject of research is a ministerial schools, zemstvo's schools, church schools, public of primary schools in the South of Ukraine and their activity. The methods of research: comparative-historical, statistical, descriptive, problem-chronologic, method of quantitative analysis. The results of research and novelty: the teaching process organization, the system of teacher training, financial and material providing, control over the public schools' work and the governmental law activity in education are researched. The research showed the mutual connection between increasing prestige of education and rising quantity of schools in Kherson Hubernia. Theauthor came to the conclusion, that public schools were the principal primary educational establishments in the South of Ukraine in the second half of the XIX-th - the beginning of the XX-th century. The sphere of usage: a subsequent study of problem of development of pre-revolution education, writing of the advanced and educational studies of regional character, teaching of courses is for history of Ukraine, history of pedagogics.
