The thesis in question is committed to the topical problem of the modern pedagogical theory and practice - artistic education of papillary youth of the French primary school with artistic upbringing used as example. The historical and cultural cradles and conditions for the genesis of artistic education of schoolchildren in France are clarified on the basis of analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature as well as primary school curricula in XIX-XXI centuries, the importance of artistic education is cleared up as on European as on national scale, the main courses of modern ideas development in artistic education of young generation are well-marked, the analysis of legislative basis of artistic education in to-day France is made, psychological and pedagogical systems of artistic education are exposed and the componential set of forms and methods of artistic education in French primary school is marked. The experience of realization of the content of artistic education of schoolchildren in the process education and upbringing in France is generalized in the thesis. A comparative analysis of the artistic subjects which are included into primary school curricula in France and in Ukraine is made. The propositions are given as to the possible application of the effective forms and methods of artistic education in domestic pedagogical practice.
