Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the complex research of Ukrainian tapestry within the main tendencies of fine arts in 1960s-1990s. It determines basics of the national school of tapestry, origins of its tradition and culture. The main guiding lines in theory and practice of decorative art are defined, as well as their influence on the development of Ukrainian tapestry. The work highlights the level of tapestry's presentation within the themes of current importance and problems of native art in 1960s-1990s. It specifies the criteria of creative matter of tapestry, the criteria, due to which tapestry's peculiarity has to be preserved.
