Essay

The object of the research - methods of long-term storing of microorganisms: sorbtion-contact dehydratation and lyophylic drying. The aim - to develop the technology for long-term storage of the different species of bacteria using sorbtion-contact dehydratation method and to evaluate its efficacy. Methods of the research - bacteriological, serological, electron-microscopic, statistical. Theoretical and practical results - the technology of the long-term storage of the bacteria different species using the methods of the sorbtion-contact dehydratation was developed. The influence of different ratio of adsorbent to adsorbtive on main biological peculiarities of microorganisms, their ultrastructure and the level of viability was investigated. The optimal ratio of adsorbent to adsorbtive for different bacterial species was determined. The comparative studying of the effectiveness of the lyophilic drying method and the sorbtion-contact dehydratation was carried out. The system of measures for prevention of microorganism culture contamination during the contact drying was developed. Novelty: the technology for long-term storage of different bacterial species using the sorbtion-contact dehydratation was firstly developed. The set of components of the dispersion module for the contact dehydratation of microorganisms was selected and the module was developed. The optimal conditions for the bacterial cell gradual dehydratation was defined. Degree of implementation: methodical recommendations, approved by the Science-methodical council of the Ukrainian State department for veterinary medicine. The obtained results are implemented in the scientific veterinary institutions and used in the education process in training of specialists and magisters of veterinary medicine in agrarian high institutes of Ukrainian ІV level of accreditation in courses "Microbiology", "Virology", "Biotechnology". Field of application - veterinary medicine.
