Thesis provides detailed analysis of organization of civil education in the European pedagogical space and the strategy of development of citizenship education in Great Britain nowadays. The idea of civil education in the history of English pedagogical idea is studied. The content and essence of the curriculum subject „Citizenship education” in the educational establishments of Great Britain and regional features of civil education of the English senior pupils are examined. Features of pedagogical tool in the process of realization of tasks of civil education of the English students are lighted. The main ways of using british civil education in Ukraine are described.
