Babyuk V. Radioecological Terminology of the Modern French Language: Structure, Semantics and Functioning.

This thesis is devoted to the study of the structural, semantic and pragmatic features of radioecological lexis that is functioning in the French texts on radioecology. The peculiarity of the scientific approach in this thesis consists of the study of the chosen object based not on the analysis of the isolated lexical units or groups of the terms but on the analysis of their functioning in the texts (contexts), that made it possible to determine the phenomenon of the live production, reformulation and usage of new lexical units, as well as to observe the evolution of the language of the radiological science. The formation of the apparatus of radioecological lexis (from diachronic and synchronic points of view) is described, as well as its word-building and productive structural types, and the ways of enriching the analyzed vocabulary. The complex analysis of the French radioecological lexical units shows their functioning and organization in the texts of the domain involved, as well as the types of relationships between them. The pragmatic study which cannot be provided without taking into consideration of pure linguistic and nonlinguistic factors was performed based on sociological, psychological and communicative aspects.
