Essay

The Dissertation is concerned with operative treatment of patellar equilibrium disorder in dogs, working out of connective tissue and osteocartilaginous plasty (graft) of femoral patellar joint elements, recovery of their efficiency.Rentgenology, X-ray dosimetry, computer tomography examinations are the major preconditions for differentiation of femoral patellar joint disorders. Break of patellar equilibrium is a result of displasia which leads to femur and patellar block dysplasia, valgus deformation of knee joint, medialisation/lateralisation of patellar, knee joint soft tissues' dysplasia. The most efficient treatment of equilibrium disorders is a connective tissues plasty of small animals in the period from their birth up to 3 years of age, animals of medium and big species during the first 11 months of life, provided that persistent deformation of extremities is absent. Osteocartilaginous graft for all species is performed at the age of 12 months. If there is a stable deformation of extremities/limbs, combined operations are performed starting from the age of 10 months.
