In the thesis it is analyzed the development of pedagogical ideas about family upbringing: it is shown that sources of the views on the family begin from the ancient times & represented today in folklore, traditions, religion, in works of the religious & state people in the time of Kyiv Rus; it is represented the views of famous pedagogues of the elder periods as for the solving of the family upbringing's problems; it is also generalized the peculiarities of pedagogical views in different historical periods.
