The object - the teaching process in higher educational institutions of Ukraine in the second half of the XIXth century; the aim - to systematize the theoretical ideas and generalize the experience of students' learning-cognitive activity organization in higher educational institutions of Slobozhanschyna in the second half of the XIXth century; the methods - general scientific, historic and pedagogical retrospective, system-structural, problem-oriented, comparative; the novelty - the complex analysis of the problem of students' learning-cognitive activity organization in Slobozhanschyna in the historic development has been carried out; the results - new archival materials (112) have been introduced for scientific consideration the course in History of Pedagogy for postgraduate students "Students' learning-cognitive activity organization (historic and pedagogical aspects)" has been worked out
