Essay

Object - physiology-biochemical and immunological processes in the organism of sheep of breeds of Olibs, Askania mutton-wool of the Dnepropetrovsk type and their cross-breeds during adaptation to the environmental and husbandry conditions of steppe area of Ukraine. Aim - to find out the features of immunobiological status, natural resistance, growth and development of sheep of the imported breed of Olibs of the Canadian selection and local Askania mutton-wool of the Dnepropetrovsk type and cross-breeds of first generation got from them in the environmental and husbandry conditions in the steppe zone of Ukraine. Methods - zoogigienical, clinical, physiological, morpho-biochemical, immunological, zootechnical, statistical. Novelty - first on the basis of the conducted complex researches the biological features of sheep of breeds of Olibs are found out, Askania mutton-wool and their cross-breeds with a theoretical ground and estimation of their adaptation ability. Simultaneously, investigations into natural resistance indices, intensity of immuno-biological reactivity, lung breathing, gas-energy exchange and heat resistance have proved positive adaptive capabilities in both pure Olibs sheep and local young sheep obtained in cross-breeding of the Dnipropetrovsk type ewes with the pedigree rams of imported Olibs breed under the environmental and husbandry conditions in the steppe zone of Ukraine. Alternative data have been also obtained on lamb indices at slaughtering, as well as on growth rates and gains in young sheep of different genotypes. Results of the researches - used in an educational process and pedigree work. Industry - stock-raising.
