The dissertation deals with the development of educational and upbringing notions in Paul Natorp scientific-pedagogical heritage. On the basis of studying the analysis of Paul Natorp pedagogic heritage, theprerequisites of his pedagogic ideas are defined. The unknown stages of his pedagogic activity are characterized. Social-historic and pedagogic preconditions of Paul Natorp pedagogi c development are investigated.The upbringing ideal of his is described. The main principles of education and upbringing according to Paul Natorp are classified. Thevery essence of such concepts as ‘community’ and ‘society’ in Natorpsocial-pedagogical theory are analyzed. In-depth study of scientist’s pedagogic legacy will give pedagogues the possibility to enlarge their knowledge as for the role and importance of education itself. Thecontent of the dissertation might be used in present day pedagogic practice, in history of social pedagogic ducation programs workingouts.
