Essay

The dissertation is devoted to artistic peculiarities research of stone sculpture in the South Ukraine of Scythian-Sarmat period. Evolution of form and image of stone plastic art of the South Ukraine of the VIII century BC - IV century AD is traced in the context of the art research. Stages of its development have been analyzed and territorial-chronological frameworks of monuments spreading have been verified and discovered form peculiarities. The author analyzed sculptural arrangement of the VIII century BC - early IV century AD in the context of that time religious ideas. He also revealed peculiarities of compositional semantic construction of tamgs on the basis of the fighter image transformation into scientific symbol.
