Podvysotska T. Complex Investigation of Public Health and Its Influence on Economic Growth

The object is public health as a component of human capital and its influence on economic growth. The purpose is development of the theoretical, methodical and practical elements of the comprehensive analysis and estimation of public health and its influence on economic growth and scientific justification of the priority of social policy measures for its improvement. The methods used are of system analysis, mathematical modeling, statistical and analytical modeling, of econometric analysis and forecasting. The novelty - methodological approach for comprehensive estimation of public health is developed; empirical estimation of factor influence on health capital formation is improved; economic and mathematical model of health factor influence on economic growth is constructed; methodology of qualitative analysis of interdependence between health components and income level on the basis of Preston curve is elaborated. The results are: the treatise of "health capital" is extended; determinants that influence on health capital formation on macrolevel are identified, the forecast of gross domestic product of Ukraine for 2008-2014 years considering for forecast estimations of complex index of public health is elaborated; primary measures of social and economic policy aimed at the improvement of public health are justified. Results have been applied in economic practice.
