Object of research: the process of formation of social policy of tourism development in the region. Purpose: substantiation of theoretical and methodological principles and development of practical recommendations for the formation and implementation of social policy for tourism development in the Transcarpathian region. Methods: monographic, dialectical, comparison, economic analysis and generalization, index, regression analysis, ranking, absolute, relative and average values, time series analysis, causal analysis, abstract-logical, graphical. Novelty: for the first time a differentiated approach to the formation of social policy for tourism development in the region in terms of defined by the author groups of territories in the region based on the level of their social development and development of tourism; the theoretical basis of formation of social policy of development of tourism of region is proposed, methodical bases of monitoring and the analysis of a condition and tendencies of development of tourism of region in the context of realization of its social function are improved. Scope of application: in the activities of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration in the development of the "Tourism Development Program of the Transcarpathian region for 2021-2023", the National Park "Enchanted Land" for effective implementation of social functions of tourism, increasing the level of management of the territory and its tourist and recreational facilities, the State Enterprise "Velykobychkivske forestry" in laying tourist routes within its territory, building tourist infrastructure on eco-trails, in forming a strategy for the development of Kolochava territorial community to activate the area of interest of the business community and relationships of local communities, the State enterprise "Sanatorium" Shayan" to ensure the established social standards of health and recreation and improve the health of all social groups in the region, in the educational process of the Mukachevo State University in teaching disciplines "Recreational geography", "Recreational complexes of the world", "Geography of transport and communications", "Tourism infrastructure", "Organization of transport services".
