Object - the aspects of forming personality in the native pedagogy and education in 20-70s of XX century; the aim - to systematize theoretical ideas and generalize the practical experience of developing pupils' discipline in 20-70s of XX century in order to improve the process of pupils' discipline forming in present day schools of Ukraine; methods - historical-pedagogical, theoretical and system-structural, problem-oriented and comparative, retrospective; novelty -the research has been the first one to present the integral analysis of theory and practice of pupils' discipline forming in the native pedagogical thought in 20-70s of XX century, the modern approaches to the understanding of the terms "discipline" and "being disciplined" are specified, the new archival materials on the problem of pupils' discipline forming (64 documents) have been introduced for scientific study ; results - the teaching manuals "Aspects of discipline forming in pedagogical theory: historical approach" and " Origin and development of the idea of personality discipline forming in pedagogical theory and practice abroad" have been worked out, the special teaching course programme "Incorporation of pedagogical ideas of 20-70s of XX century on the problem of pupils' discipline forming in modern schools" has been compiled; field - pedagogy
