This thesis focuses on the study of monological and dialogical supraphrasal unities in contemporary French fiction discourse from syntactic, semantic and pragmatic perspectives. Supraphrasal unities are viewed as conjunctive and disjunctive polyisotopic entities with explicit and implicit theme and rheme isotopy. Peculiarities of correlation between macrothematic/ macrorhematic referential zones and the hіerarchy of microthemes, microrhemes and optional elements have been analyzed. It has been revealed that in supraphrasal unities autosemantic and synsemantic argumentative patterns are realized correlating with communicative dynamism, communicative tension and role рolyphony.
