Poberezhna O. Gender Peculiarity in Speech Activity of Russian Language User.

The object of study of this dissertation is male and female language users with masculine, feminine and androgynous orientation of mind. The aim is an exposure of the features of speech activity of Russian language use by men and women with masculine, feminine and androgynous orientation of mind. The methods are comparative analysis, descriptive, psycholinguistic experiment, sociolinguistical, content-analysis. This dissertation is a complex study of gender-cognitive specificity in personality speech activity. This research is based on a theory of language users which is presented from the position of gender differentiation and mind orientation. The gender dichotomy is influenced by psycho-physiological and social-cultural factors. The adequacy and completeness of the description of gender language user can be achieved taking into account feminine, androgynous and masculine orientation of mind which is considered in both genders. Accordingly there are six types of gender language user which are presented in this dissertation. The study of retelling, summarizing and translating texts represents the speech activity as realization of receptive and creative ways of thinking. It is possible to find out the unity of formal and semantic preferences of language user at different language levels: lexical, morphological, syntactical. The type of language user determines the discursive and linguo-creative originality of speech activity. The sphere of application is training courses.
