Kokkina L. Means of expressing of semantic category of passivity in the original text and its translation (on the material of French fiction texts's Ukrainian translation)

The thesis focuses on the complex study of the features of rendering diverse means of expressing the semantic category of passivity when translating French fiction texts into the Ukrainian language on the basis of comparative analysis of convergent and divergent marks of those means in the systems of the languages under consideration. Interlingual distinctions of a systemic, normative or usage nature have been established which cause the use of translational transformations on the semantic and pragmatic levels of translational equivalence, namely: the substitution of morphological way of designation of a passive action with the syntactical, lexical or phraseological ones; transposition; personality/impersonality shift; hyponymic translation; hyperonymic translation; metonymical translation; antonymic translation; expansion; explication; omission; interpolation of the subject. The influence of translational solutions on the completeness of the rendering of the author's communicative intention in the translation has been defined.
