Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the discourse forming factors in Italian television talk shows. TV talk shows' discourse dimension is regarded as a system of dynamic structural components. In this paper presentation, axiological, argumentative, and leadership components are singled out and their nation-specific features are defined. The discourse forming mechanisms are described and discourse participants' role in their activation is analysed. Two axiological concepts of Italian talk-shows - CASA and FAMIGLIA - are identified alongside with of communicative synchrony/asynchrony markers. In the thesis cooperative and conflict strategies of discourse participants are singled out.
