Luchka L. Libraries in cultural and educational sphere of Yekaterinoslav in the late 19 th - early 20 th century.

Object: cultural development of Yekaterinoslav in the second half of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century. Subject: organization, structure, forms and activities of Yekaterinoslav libraries in the second half of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century. Methodological basis: historical method, objectivity and scientific character; analytical, genetic comparative, descriptive, systematic, structural and functional approaches; logical, systematic structural, retrospective, chronological, historico - typological, personal methods of research. Results: complex research of history and activities of Yekaterinoslav libraries in cultural and educational space in the second half of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century is carried out for the first time; home and foreign sources are shown and systematized, their analysis gives an opportunity to reveal the subject of the thesis; the library net of Yekaterinoslav and the peculiarities of its formation are defined; acquisition of books, process of service, bibliographing in the activities of different dependent libraries are analyzed; thematic and quantitative composition of book collection is shown; reading circle of different users is examined; public and cultural educational role of libraries in the development of Yekaterinoslav province is retraced. Aim: to reproduce the organization and activities of libraries, to determine their place and role in cultural and educational space of Yekaterinoslav province.
