Zakharova N. Cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe in the field of history education reform in 1995 - 2005 years

Object is the process of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe in 1995-2005. Subject is the interaction of Ukraine and the Council of Europe in the reform of history teaching in schools within the studied period. Purpose is the study of the content of cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe in the reform of history teaching in schools and its importance for improving the teaching of history in Ukraine. Methodological basis: the principles of historism and objectivity, system and axiological approaches, historical, logical, systematic and structural, retrospective, problem and chronological, comparative and historical research methods, the methods of typologies, reconstructions and periodization. Results: for the first time the complex study of cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe was held in the reform of history teaching; the complex of sources of domestic and foreign origin, which analysis made it possible to develop a theme of the research was identified and systematized; the tasks and principles of the Council of Europe activities in the field of history teaching was analyzed; the content of specific terms used to describe this activity was clarified; the process of cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe in the field of teaching history as an element of European integration policy was reconstructed and characterized; the periodization of this cooperation in 1995-2005 years was suggested; the process of realization of the recommendations of the Council of Europe in the preparation of the state standard of basic and full history teaching and history programs for the 12-year school, as well as in the content of history textbooks in Ukraine was considered. The sphere of usage is the process of study and scientific and research activities.
