Object - natural world studies of pupils of primary school in Ukraine; the aim - to study and generalize theoretical pedagogical ideas, to analyse and systematize practical experience of natural world studies by primary school pupils during the period chosen for the research in order to use the efficient experience of the past in the teaching process of modern primary school; methods - historical-pedagogical, theoretical, system-structural; novelty - the research has been the first one to present the integral analysis of the theory and practice of junior schoolchildren's natural studies organization during the specific historical period, the impact of outstanding scholars of the second part of XX century on the organization of junior pupils' natural world studies is examined, the stages of natural studies organization in primary school during the second part of XX century are singled out, the perspectives for creative use of theoretical and practical achievements in natural education during the second part of XX century in present-day schools are defined; results - theoretical ideas and data are incorporated in the teaching course "Junior pupils' natural world studies: historical and pedagogical aspects" for students of pedagogical institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation; field - pedagogy
