3. The thesis is a complex multiterm investigation dedicated to consideration of art models of Ukrainian abstract painting during 1980–2010. The declared problem has been considered in a complex, and a notion has been extended of the place and significance of painting abstraction in Ukraine of the mentioned period in a general stream of development of Ukrainian art and in the context of its relations with culture of the West and Russia. Attention was concentrated on systematization of theoretical-fine art approaches to development of abstraction and its rebirth in Ukraine in the time under study. New archival materials, works from private collections, galleries, studios have been introduced in scientific circulation.
