The thesis is dedicated to the issue of reproducing discourse-forming factors in the field of translation of fiction. Having taken discourse analysis as a productive direction of modern translatology, the author develops definitions of discourse and discourse-forming factor in translation. As a certain set of discouse-forming factors is specific for a separate work of fiction or a writer, novels by Stephen King translated into Ukrainian were chosen for illustrative material.
