Essay

Object is the work with gifted children in the teaching and educational process; goal is to examine and summarize theory, to analyse and systematize the experience of the organization of the pedagogical support of the gifted students of general education schools of Ukraine in the period under examination for the purpose of employment of creative discoveries of the past in the pedagogical process of the modern school; methods are general scientific methods, historical method; novelty - for the first time an integral historical and pedagogical analysis of the problem of the pedagogical support of the gifted students of general education schools of Ukraine in the given historical period was performed; sources of idea of the pedagogical support of the gifted school students in foreign and Ukrainian pedagogical thought were found out; stages of development of the problem of the pedagogical support of the gifted students were substantiated and main tendencies of its development in the Ukrainian pedagogy of the second half of the 20th century were found out; experience of the pedagogical support of the gifted students in the curricular and extracurricular activities of the general education schools in the observed period was summarized; prognostic trends of the pedagogical support of the gifted school students on the current stage were determined; obscure archival data (52), documents, facts expanding understanding of the organization of the pedagogical support of the gifted students were introduced into the scientific circulation; results - factual data, main provisions and conclusions of the thesis can be used for preparation of new works dedicated to the problems of the pedagogical support of the gifted students, while teaching such courses as "History of Pedagogy", "Pedagogy", "Comparative Pedagogy", "Social Pedagogy", "Basics of the Pedagogical Mastery", and also in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education of the teachers; field - pedagogy
