Subject of Research is the secondary-level education in Ukraine (the end of ХІХ century - the beginning of ХХ century).Topic of Research is the female secondary-level education in the educational establishments in Kherson province at the end of ХІХ century - at the beginning of ХХ century. Research Objective is to be the scientific theoretical justification of formation and development of the female secondary-level education in Kherson province at the end of ХІХ century - at the beginning of ХХ century and a creative use of significantly constructive experience in the Ukrainian pedagogical science and practice. Research Methods: search and bibliographic, arrangement and classification methods for historical, pedagogical literature and archive sources; the generalization method; analysis, synthesis, comparison methods; historical and chronological method; historical and typological method; historical and comparative method; the method of historical updating of a problem. The scientific novelty: an integral historiographical and source studies analysis of the problem of female education in Kherson province at the end of ХІХ century - at the beginning of ХХ century was made; the formation of the female secondary-level education was reproduced and the content of the activity of different types of female secondary-level educational establishments in Kherson province during the period under consideration was revealed; prerequisites for the formation of the female education at the end of ХІХ century - at the beginning of ХХ century were revealed; a periodization of the development of the female secondary-level education in Kherson province at the end of ХІХ century - at the beginning of ХХ century was developed; the features of functioning and administration of the female secondary-level educational establishments were revealed; another 34 archive documents and also historical facts were introduced in the scientific turnover allowing the findings concerning the development of female secondary-level education in Kherson province at the end of ХІХ century - at the beginning of ХХ century to be deepened and concretized.
