The dissertation aims at providing a comprehensive analysis of English translation techniques of the metaphoric and allusive axiologems of the Ukrainian political discourse. The results demonstrate that translation of metaphor and allusions strives to preserve evaluation as one of the significant features of political communication. Evaluation influences the choice of translation devices.The axiologem translation is considered as a subsystem in the political text translation system. The axiologem translation process is problem-solving translator's actions. The script of the axiologem translation process explains the process as operating on information structures in stereotype situation. The script execution has sociocultural negative shifts.
