The thesis focuses on the issue of formation of a holistic educational environment of the child in the pedagogical heritage of V. Sukhomlinsky. In this research work the main research areas of heritage of V. Sukhomlynsky are singled out and analyzed in the context of a holistic educational environment of the child as a social and pedagogical construct. The essence and content of conceptual apparatus is uncovered, the notion of "holistic educational environment" and prerequisites of it's formation in the philosophical and pedagogical ideas are formulated.The features of the formation of a holistic educational environment in practice of V. Sukhomlinsky are ascertained. The following social and pedagogical principles of the formation of a holistic educational environment in practice of V. Sukhomlinsky are defined and justified: goal setting, principles, social and pedagogical conditions. It's philosophical and pedagogical comprehension in the context of modern science is carried out. The application of ideas of V. Sukhomlinsky about the formation of a holistic educational environment in the modern pedagogical practice is studied.
