Essay

The thesis focuses on the study of communicative, pragmatic and linguistic aspects of the persuasion category. In the investigation the French scientific and mass media texts on international relations are used. Persuasion is regarded as a modus text-discourse category, thanks to which the author assesses the trustworthiness of the message via his confidence. The principal communicative strategies of informing, arguing and persuading which author of the scientific discourse use to influence on the recipient have been singled out. The role of architectonic structure in forming informative content is ascertained in French scientific text.
