Object of research: distribution, etiology, pathogenesis and course piometra cats. The purpose of research - a comprehensive study of patients piometroyu cats, covering distribution, etiology and pathogenesis, pathomorphological changes in reproductive organs, diagnosis and course of disease, the effectiveness of conservative and surgical treatment of cats with piometroyu and application of incoherent polarized light, radiated lamp "Bioptron". Methods: clinical, hematological, biochemical, histological, bacteriological, statistically. Scientific novelty: The thesis highlights the investigation into the extension, clinical manifestations, and origin of pyometra in cats with respect to the breed, age and management conditions. The author investigates the cytologic and biochemical blood indices in cats ill with pyometra, as well as the histological changes in the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries in comparison with the standard values and under endometritis. The author also determines the vaginal microflora in clinically healthy cats and those ill with pyometra and the susceptibility of vagina to antibiotics. The paper also presents the investigation into the efficiency of the conservative method of treating cats ill with pyometra, as well as into the effects of the non-coherent polarized light on the general habitus, cytological and biochemical blood composition, histological structure of skin in the operative approach site under ovariohysterectomy and during the wound process course. It has been established that the course of pyometra in cats is characterized by leukocytosis, the decrease in the content of hemoglobin and erythrocytes, and the increase in the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). The biochemical test has made it possible to reveal the increase in crude protein, whole billirubin, creatinine and urea concentration, the increase in the activity of alanine - aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate - aminotransferase (AST) enzymes, and the activity of ? - amylase. The conservative treatment we suggest includes the intravenous infusion of isotonic solutions of sodium chloride and glucose, antibiotics and ascorbic acid, the intramuscular introduction of hepatocardioprotors, spasmolytic and other preparations which stimulate the uterus muscles. The above makes it possible to inhibit the inflammatory process and the body intoxication, thus contributing to the recovery of 60% of cats ill with pyometra within two months. The non-coherent polarized light emitted by Bioptron lamp does not produce any negative effect on the general condition of the body, the cytological and biochemical blood composition and has an evident stimulating effect on the course of the wound process, under wound healing after ovariohysterectomy which is manifested by the reduction of treatment terms by 2 or 3 days, as well as by wound healing within 7 days. Under the treatment of closed sutures of aseptic surgical wounds with furacillin 1:5000 and iododicerine on the background of the antibiotic therapy wound healing after ovariohysterectomy takes place on the 10th - 11th day. Sphere (industry) use: veterinary medicine.
