Essay

Object of the research:andrological pathology in animals. Thepurposeofthework:to substantiate theoretically and experimentally the development of diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive measures for andrological pathologies in domestic animals. Research methods: general clinical (general condition of the animal, functioning of organs and systems of the organism), andrological (general characteristics of genitals, assessment of sperm quality, manifestations of sexual reflexes), morphological (morphometric, cytological, histological), biochemical (determination of individual indicators of homeostasis, state of prooxidant-antioxidant system, oxygen metabolism and hormonal background), special (ultrasonic and thermography, computer programs, fluorescence microscopy), statistical. Scientific novelty: The method of remote-contactless and non-invasive diagnostics of pathological processes in male genitals was for the first time developed and tested. The method of lifelong assessment of testicular endostructure in animals and differentiation of their morphofunctional state was for the first time developed. A computer program for differential diagnosis of andrological pathologies was developed. Statistical data on the prevalence and forms of andrological pathologies of different species of animals in the farms of the eastern, southern and central regions of Ukraine were obtained. Therapy methods of nonspecific balanoposthitis and a method of sanitation of the preputial cavity of breedinganimals using drugs based on ozonated materials (“OKO”, “Prozon”) have been developed. Computer programs for the use, dosing of appropriate drugs for the treatment of males with gonadopathies (gonadal pathologies characterized by the development of dystrophic processes) and the prognosis of the restoration of reproductive function inbreeding animals of different species have been developed. State indicators of the prooxidant-antioxidant system in males forgonadopathy were for the first time established. New scientific data on the relationship between the state of the prooxidant-antioxidant system, oxygen metabolism and hormonal background in males with different structural and functional state of the gonads was obtained. Therapy methods for treating males withgonadopathiesusing complex drugs on the basis of nanobiomaterials (“Carafand+OV”, “Carafand+OV Zn”) have been developed. The methods of using automated technical means for assessing the quality of male sperm with the determination of the number of spermatogenesis cells and the TZI index have been improved. A visual method for assessing the quality of male sperm using a carbocyanine fluorescent probe JC-1 was for the first time developed. Preventive measures to increase the reproductive capacity of males with the use of complex drugs based on nanobiomaterials have been developed. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is confirmed by declaratory patents for a utility model (№ 77870 “Method of determining the endostructure and functional state of the gonads in males”, № 77871 “Method of increasing reproductive capacity in males”). Ithasbeenproposed:The main provisions of the dissertation were included to the guidelines “Thermographic diagnostics in veterinary obstetrics, gynecology and andrology”; “Ozone-containing drugs and their use in veterinary reproductive medicine”; “Complex drugs based on nanobiomaterials and their use in veterinary reproductive medicine”; “Remote-contactless and non-invasive diagnostics of pathological processes in male gonads”; “Complex drug “Carafand+OV, Zn” and its use for gonadodystrophy in males” and the monograph “Reproduction problems of sheep and goats and their solutions” and the textbook “Physiology and pathology of reproduction of small animals”. Ithasbeenintroduced:The results of experimental research are used in the educational process and research at the departments of higher education institutions of Ukraine, in the research of scientific institutions, as well as are implemented in a number of farms in several regions of Ukraine.
