Research object is the dynamics of calving and post-calving period and their correction for different states of the body of cows.
Purpose of the work: to examine the course of calving and the post-calving period based on the results of obstetric and gynecological examination, to determine their impact on the manifestation of the sexual cycle in cows and to provide physiological substantiation to the means and methods of correction of the sexual cycle.
Methods of research: clinical methods (examination, palpation, rectal examination), haematological methods (determination of haemoglobin content, ESR, leukogram, counting the number of erythrocytes, platelets, leukocytes), biochemical methods (determination of total protein, cholesterol, aspartate transaminase and alanine transaminase activity, determination of alkaline phosphatase, amylase, glucose, creatinine, urea, bilirubin), immunoferment methods (hormone levels), cytological methods (determination of the composition and type of cells, study of mucus) and statistical ones.
Scientific novelty. The following methods of correction of the sexual cycle in cows have been experimentally substantiated: by means of biochemical blood analysis, cytological examination of impression smears from the mucous membrane of the vagina, rectal examination of the internal genital organs. Therapeutic and economic effectiveness of using tissue preparations in the symptomatic form of infertility in cows has been substantiated. The morphological, biochemical, and hormonal composition of blood before and after the application of tissue preparations has been determined. For the first time, a comparative cytological assessment of the condition of the mucous membrane of vagina in cows has been conducted during the sexual cycle with the use of tissue preparations. Methods that can be used to stabilize metabolic parameters of the body in cows and to correct them with the help of subcutaneous injection of tissue preparations Metrofet M and Fetoplatsentat K have been proposed.
The course of calving and post-calving period, as well as pathomorphological changes in the genital organs of cows has been analyzed. A new theoretical, clinical-symptomatic and pathogenetic substantiation of infertility in cows has been provided. According to the results of the research, two patents of Ukraine have been received, namely for the invention No. 110268 “Method of manufacturing the veterinary drug Metrofet M” and for the utility model No. 96211 “Method of manufacturing the veterinary drug Metrofet M”.
Proposals: to determine the stages of the sexual cycle in cows by cytological examination of vaginal mucus. It is recommended to use the tissue preparations Fetoplatsentat K and Metrofet M to stimulate reproductive function and correct the sexual cycle in cows.
Implementation: Scientific developments have been introduced into the practical activity of agricultural enterprises, the educational process and research work at the faculties of veterinary medicine of higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
