The dissertation represents the unique integral analysis of the genesis of the authorial schools in Ukraine in the 80-ies of the 20th century - the beginning of the 21st century. Two stages are found out and substantiated: searching one (the 80-ies of the 20th century - 1990) and contemporary one (1991 - the beginning of the 21st century), - each of which has the priority tendencies as to the becoming and development of the authorial schools at the investigated period. The retrospective analysis of the problem in ukrainian and foreign pedagogical theory and practice is carried out, the basic directions of elaboration are revealed. The author characterizes the essence of the definition "the authorial school", defines the key features and basic types of the authorial schools of the 80-ies of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st centuries. The structural components of the authorial school as a whole system and the principles of activities of the authorial schools are determined. The author discovers and characterizes the major educational technologies of the authorial schools in Ukraine in the noted period. The researcher also scientifically generalizes the experience and systematizes the achievements of the most famous authorial schools in Ukraine in the 80-ies of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st centuries. The perspective directions of the usage of the achievements of the theory and practice of the authorial schools today are grounded.
